DAAPcamps scholarships inspire design-career goals

CATC students Samantha Murray and D’Andre Warren earned scholarships, through their work at CATC, to DAAPcamps, a summer live-on-campus program where young people from all over the world explore potential careers in design. Our students’ workshop focus was “shoe design” and each developed drawings and 3D models of their prototypes. Both said that during their hard-working week on campus they formed clearer ideas about what their future paths might be, including goals for college and beyond. The culmination was a public exhibition with standing-room-only crowds and farewells–for now–to friendships and design connections forged during the week. DAAP Alliance, in which several CATC students participated during the 2016 – 2017 school year, and DAAPcamps are sponsored by the University of Cincinnati’s College of Design Architecture Art and Planning and Procter & Gamble.
