Developing Brands, business and personal

What is a brand? What is identity? What is each individual’s personal brand and by what characteristics do we identify ourselves? Those questions launched this semester’s study theme, in introductory sessions led by CATC Education Director Laura Greene-White. As an example, students pondered the CATC brand and poured through magazines for words and ideas they associate with the brand. Then a smaller group dove deeper in a training session led by creative consultant David Eyman. He introduced the students to concepts such as “brand archetypes,” and challenged them to consider and develop their own personal brands. The following week, those students led their fellow students in similar sessions, inspiring the art the students are now creating for the Spring Fever student show on April 16, 2016, 3-6 p.m. Mark your calendar!
