Jen Edwards

Stained Glass

“Working at CATC has been one of the most rewarding jobs in my career. I don’t believe I’m merely teaching my students art; it’s more that I’m preparing them with creative-problem-solving skills that will help them succeed throughout their lives.”

Background

People don’t always think of artists as business pros or vice versa, but Jen Edwards is both. That makes her a perfect role model for CATC students, since the CATC mission includes preparing kids to succeed in professional environments even as they recover credits toward graduation in their art studios. Jen says the creative process applies to both areas of her life, even as a collections account manager, where her job is to help the bank’s borrowers solve financial challenges. Likewise, her business skills help her succeed as an artist, whether she’s preparing and installing stained-glass windows for business clients, using her entrepreneurial skills as the founder of two art galleries in Over the Rhine or helping a group of fiber artists prepare for Cincinnati Art Museum and Contemporary Art Center exhibits.
