Preparing for their trip to Yellowstone!

Ten CATC students are leaving in early August for a trip-of-a-lifetime to Yellowstone National Park, to include hiking, teambuilding, and lessons in personal growth. They’ll study geology, wildlife management, proper nutrition for active living, and will take advantage of their time in one of the most beautiful places in the world to hone their photography skills. For most, it will be their first-ever plane ride, or ever being out of the city let alone seeing mountains and wild animals.

A series of preparatory meetings and outdoor adventures, including a recent trip to the zoo, are designed to teach them how to survive and thrive in natural environments. Cincinnati Zoo Director Thane Maynard took them on a personal tour of the zoo, telling them about Yellowstone and introducing them to animals they’re likely to see there.  Watch the CATC Facebook page for regular postings of their photos, drawings and observations about what they’re learning.
